Lisa Bielawa is a composer and vocalist who spent three years as composer in residence with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project from 2006 to 2009. Under the guidance of conductor Gil Rose, she composed solo pieces for musicians, and concertos for longtime collaborators and the entire orchestra. Bielawa’s writing is sonically rich, exploratory and at times playful. It is captured with precision and passion on this double CD release from BMOP Sound.
