Ricky Skaggs left a successful career as a country artist a half-dozen years ago to return to bluegrass. Since then, he and his band, Kentucky Thunder, have become known for taking bluegrass to a new level – with the playing and songwriting. His latest Grammy-nominated CD, "History of the Future" continues this notable trend and may be starting a new one: playing modern country songs with a bluegrass twist.
